Most PNG-to-PDF tools simply place your picture on a PDF page, so it is still pixels and still blurs when printed large. Shapesoda traces the PNG first and writes the resulting shapes into the PDF, so you get a vector PDF: crisp at any size, small in file size and editable in vector software.

How to convert PNG to a vector PDF

  1. Drop, paste or choose your PNG file above. Tracing starts right away — no sign-up needed to see the result.
  2. Check the result in the split view. Adjust colors and detail in the panel on the right, or fix spots with the pencil, fill and remove-shape tools.
  3. Choose PDF in the export menu and download. The page size matches the image, so the artwork can be placed straight into a layout.

Tips

  • Transparent areas of the PNG stay transparent in the PDF when Transparency is set to Keep.
  • Check small text and thin lines in the split view before downloading; raise Output detail if they look too simplified.

Questions

Is this different from “Save as PDF”?

Yes. Saving as PDF keeps the pixels. Shapesoda converts them into vector shapes first, so the PDF scales without blur.

Can I edit the PDF in Illustrator?

Yes. The shapes open as editable paths, grouped by color.

Can I convert several PNGs to PDF at once?

Yes, with batch mode. Each image becomes its own PDF, delivered in one ZIP file.

What is a credit?

One credit is one downloaded image, in any format. Re-downloading the same image — even in another format — is free for 30 days.

Do credits expire?

No. Credits from packs never expire and stay on your account until you use them.

Do you store my images?

No. Images are processed in memory on our servers and are never written to disk. The editor keeps your image only while you work; files sent through the API sit in short-lived temporary storage so you can download the result, then disappear automatically. We never use your images to train models. The list of recent images on the start screen lives only in your browser.

Who owns the vector files?

You do. You keep all rights to the images you upload and to the vectors made from them — we claim none. Please upload only images you have the right to use.
